The main character was Angela Chase, played by Claire Danes, who was a confused teen girl just trying to make it through one day at a time. All the while Angela had a crush on a bad boy named, Jordan Catalano, played by Jared Leto, who had a hard time showing what he felt. The show revolved around Angela’s life which included her family and friends. The most memorable of her friends was Rickie Vasquez, played by Wilson Cruz, who went through troubles about his sexuality. Though Rickie wasn’t the only one was went through important problems. Rayanne Graff, played by A.J. Kanger, went through a drug and alcohol addiction throughout the season. Through for the last episodes Jordan and Rayanne hooked up and Angela found out. So Brian Krakow, played Devon Gummersall, is drafted by Jordan to help him write love letters to Angela to get her back. Claire was fifteen when she was in the show. That meant that most of the stuff Angela went through she was going through at the same time. Jared was playing guitar in a couple of episodes where it showed his band.

After the show ended the cast mostly went their separate ways. Claire Danes has been on the big screen ever since. Before the show she was in Little Women and appeared in Law and Order episodes. After the show she has been in Romeo + Juliet with Leonardo DiCaprio. She was also the first choice for the role of Rose in Titanic, but the role eventually went to Kate Winslet. She has most recently been in Terminator 3, Shopgirl, and Stardust. Claire recently married actor, Hugh Dancy.

Jared Leto is now lead singer in 30 Seconds To Mars, along with his brother.  He and his band have toured around the world and have become very popular. He has also acted in American Psycho, Urban Legend, and Panic Room. His most recent role was that of Mark David Chapman in Chapter 27.

A.J. Kanger has been in many TV shows since “My So Called Life” ended. When she was just starting out she appeared on Seinfeld, Coach, and the Wonder Years.  Wilson dropped off the charts after show stopped airing. Devon moved on to being in well know criminal shows such as CSI, Without a Trace, Monk, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and CSI:NY. He has also been in other well known TV shows such as “Roswell,”  and most recently appeared in “Drop Dead Diva."
