Countless teens and children tune into the Disney Channel every night to watch some of their favorite shows but what about those hit TV shows back in the early 2000’s. Remember the show that revolved around an average clumsy teenage girl named Lizzie McGuire or that show that launched Shia Labeouf’s career where he only played a kid prankster? All of these shows allowed teen audiences to grow up with their favorite characters in these shows and each show provided its fair share of love, laughs, tears, and teen drama.
Shows like Lizzie McGuire, Even Stevens, and That’s So Raven were some of Disney Channel’s most popular TV shows. One of Disney’s first TV hits was Lizzie McGuire which ran for a remarkable 2 seasons and was a creative children and teen show that gained very high ratings and viewers would soon fall in love with Lizzie played by Hilary Duff. The show revolved around Lizzie McGuire’s life and her two best friends Miranda and Gordo both of which played by Lalaine and Adam Lamberg. Another notable character was Lizzie’s witty little brother Matt McGuire played by Jake Thomas who was often seen trying to catch Lizzie in her most embarrassing moments. Lizzie McGuire covered all of teenage girl’s basics from: boys, puppy love, body issues, family, friendship, and surviving throughout middle school, but soon came to an end in early 2004.
Disney’s next hit was Even Stevens which showed from early 2000 until late 2003. Even Stevens focused on the Stevens family which entailed two brothers, one sister, and two busy parents who lived in the suburbs. Louis Stevens, the main character who was played by Shia Labeouf in his early days, was the trouble maker out of the family and always found ways to bother his sister and was known as the corky unusual kid. His sister Ren Stevens who was played by Christy Carlson Romano was the complete opposite of Louis, and was in the popular crowd throughout school. Even Stevens gave America a chance to follow the lives of Ren and Louis Stevens as they grew and learned a little about teenage life. Overall this show is what made Shia LaBeouf the teen heartthrob he is today.
Another Disney Channel hit was That’s so Raven which focused on a psychic teen who loved fashion and being with her two best friends Chelsea and Eddie. Raven Baxter is the star of the show and usually gets into trouble and finds herself in weird situations because of her visions. Raven Baxter is played by the famous Raven Symone. This show was also the longest show Disney had, because it had 4 successful seasons, running until late 2007.
So, where are these wonderful Disney Channel star’s at now? Well most are still busy entertaining and touching the hearts of America, while some are taking a short break from acting and pursuing their music careers.
