Inside the Mind of Gideon Rayburn |
 |
What girl wouldn’t want to know what the guy of her dreams was thinking?
Inside the Mind of Gideon Rayburn is a fascinating story about a girl in the mind of a guy who she’s in love with. Gideon is the new kid at a prestigious New England prep school and he doesn’t know if he really wants to be there. He is unsure of the new school and worried he won’t fit in or make any friends.
Soon he meets his roommates, Nicholas and Cullen, who help him fit in. They make a bet with Gideon about Molly, a quiet girl who they don’t think much of. Gideon is more interested in Pilar, a beautiful girl on campus who is popular and stylish. He fights himself about her because of the bet with his roommates.
Once meeting and getting to know Molly he begins to realize he is actually starting to like her. It doesn’t take long before Molly learns of the bet and things turn sour with Gideon.
Inside the Mind of Gideon Rayburn deals with drugs and sex content so is probably best suited for teenagers, but it is a great story that closely reflects the truth. What I found to be most interesting is that guys worry about many of the same things that girls do.

Now Starring Vivien Leigh Reid: Diva in Training |
 |
Now Starring Vivien Leigh Reid: Diva in Training is a great book with a very entertaining storyline. The story revolves around Vivien Leigh Reid and her struggle to adapt to her diva mother, snobby rich kids, and the shark-infested waters of Hollywood. Vivien starts off as a down-to-earth 16 year old who is unaffected by the glitz of the Hollywood lifestyle, but after landing a role on the hot soap opera Diamond Heights, she quickly grows into a very demanding diva.
From the moment I started reading this book I was quickly sucked into the story and had trouble putting it down. Although it is not my typical read, I found it extremely entertaining and easy to read.

Now that school is finally over for the Summer, I have had a lot more free time on my hands. So, I have decided to spend my Summer reading and have been in search of good books to read. When I saw the book, As Simple As Snow by Gregory Galloway, I knew that it was something special and I had to read it. The book centers around a mysteriously spooky girl named Anna told from the perspective of her boyfriend. When Anna suddenly disappears she leaves behind a string of mysterious clues and unanswered questions. The narrator is desperate to find her and begins to relive and put together pieces of the past five months and what he finds confuses and surprises him.
This book was one of the best that I have read in a long time, although the ending does leave the reader with some unanswered questions. It is a strange tale and is so intriguing that it is almost impossible to put down. It will suck you in from the very beginning and hold your attention until the very last word. It is definitely a must read!

This could’ve been your high school. Adora and her friends aren’t “popular” nor are they “unpopular,” they’re right on the edge. For Adora this isn’t good enough though. Through a school project she tries to change the cliques at her school.
The “popular” clique acts like they’re including her in their conversations as they make comments about her and her friends. Adora wants to be a part of their group and wants a certain guy to notice her. Everything good comes with a price though. She soon realizes that being popular isn’t what she thought it would be and she soon finds herself back on the fringe and liking it.

Love has decided to travel to London for school at the Academy of Drama and Music with her rich best friend, Arabella.
She’s unsure at first and feels totally out of place. Once she meets Arabella’s parents she really doesn’t know what she’s walked into. They are completely different than what she’s used to. There are no rules, it’s basically a trust thing and she’s treated like an adult. Love meets an incredible guy the first day and can’t believe how lucky she is. School starts and she goes from living in a palace to living in a dump. She rooms with two other girls and they all become friends.
Things start to go downhill when she finds out her crush is off-limits and things back home are falling apart. Her aunt is really sick again and her least favorite person has moved in with her dad.
As her time there is growing shorter and shorter Arabella helps her with her crush and Love realizes she never wants to leave.
Emily Franklin is an excellent writer. Each book from the "Principles of Love" series I’ve read straight through. I can’t wait for the next one to be released.
