Deep Sea Fishing
If you're looking for an adventure like no other then try your hand at deep sea fishing! While visiting Hilton Head Island I was able to go deep sea fishing. Heading out to sea one might see dolphins swimming by or even a whale! Spending 4 hours out in the middle of the ocean is an experience no one should pass up. Even if the catch is limited the tranquility and experience is well worth the price. Depending on the season there are a variety of fish to catch, you may even get a shark nibbling on your hook!
This great experience along with many others is located in the Harbour Town Yacht Basin. There are many boats to choose from. We shipped out to sea with Captain Greg Clark on the IZZY A and spent 4 hours at sea. Most of the fishing boats have similar deals, most limiting to 3 passengers maximum with prices running at $380 for 4 hours, $570 for 6 hours, and $760 for 8 hours. You can check everything out for yourself at seapines.com

Dolphin Eco-Tours
Looking to get closer to nature? Then a dolphin tour is just what you need! You are guaranteed to see a dolphin and trust me you don't want to miss this experience. The waters surrounding Hilton Head Island are home to a permanent population of 200 dolphins though many more surround the island as a migratory population. You are sure to see dolphins from the Zodiac boat on your tour and you might even get lucky enough to see one feeding in shallow waters while relaxing on the beach! Be sure to bring your camera though I must warn you, these fast mammals are hard to catch with a camera! As you head out to the ocean your tour guide will answer your questions and fill you in on very interesting facts about the dolphins that surround Hilton Head Island and even some of the legends that have stayed around for years and years.
This great opportunity is also available in the Harbour Town Yacht Basin. You will feel very safe in the Zodiac and it puts you very close to the action. The tour lasts an hour and the cost is $26 for adults and $19 for children. Trust me the experience far out weighs the price of this great opportunity to get close with nature and learn about the history and environmental life surrounding the island. You can also book this activity and many others at seapines.com

"Stroke of the Day" Tennis Clinic at the Sea Pines Racquet Club
Hilton Head Island is not only known for his world-class golf courses and beautiful beaches, but also for its tennis. The Sea Pines Racquet Club has been rated the #1 resort for its tennis programs by Tennis magazine.
Though we hadn't played tennis before we thought we'd try out the "stroke of the day" clinic and see if we could learn a few things. The clinic is designed for beginner to intermediate players, but for the most part we found everyone there had played quite a bit of tennis and just wanted to learn some new techniques. Two tennis professionals run the clinic so you're in good hands and they're more than willing to help out everyone, including the ultimate beginner. At the start they'll go over what stroke you'll be learning that day and then you'll start doing different drills which are meant to teach you the different aspects of the stroke.
Whether you play tennis often or have never played before just about anyone can find the "stroke of the day" clinics helpful. Each day Monday-Friday is a different stroke so by the end of your one week vacation you could almost be a pro. Appropriate tennis apparel is highly recommended or you may find yourself being stared down upon. $25 per day or $110 for a week; check out seapines.com for more information.
