RATING
4.5 out of 5

When we met Jak and Daxter, who knew that the trilogy would end up being one of the best action-adventure games to come to Playstation 2. With Jak 3, the conclusion to the epic trilogy, you can expect to see vast improvements.

The game opens with you (Jak) in the desert. After being forced out of Haven City you and Daxter are banished to a desert city where you will start the beginning of the end for Jak's adventure. The story has improved, as well as the graphics. Although there is plenty of action to be had, if you are just looking for a good time then look to the dune hopper buggy. You can hop from island to island or just enjoy driving around acting crazy.

One of my favorite aspects of Jak 3 that really should be implemented in other games is the auto-save feature, which allows for almost immediate restarts. Although loading time on Playstation 2 is very short for most games, Jak 3 stands out as one of the best games for load times.

As for weapons, you have four basic weapons. You can easily switch between weapons using the D-pad. Ammo for each of the weapons is plentiful, you will rarely ever find yourself without ammo.

Although I have only had the opportunity to play Jak and Daxter and Jak II a handful of times, I can easily point out that Jak 3 is far more advanced and has better gameplay. While some sequels merely make improvements, Jak 3 blows its predecessors out of the water. With Jak II, I must admit, I would often get bored and while many aspects in Jak 3 are just merely improvements from Jak II, they have been improved in such a way that makes them feel completely new and unique.
