| Like to mess around on the golf course or go mini-golfing? Well, forget those realistic golf games -- Sony has delivered a game to make golfing not only fun, but extremely addicting.
"Hot Shots Golf Fore" for Playstation 2 is quickly becoming my favorite game. It is a unique mix of golfing and cartoon comedy. The best way to describe this game is golf on steroids. When you first start the game you have the option to either play single player or multiplayer. If you play single player then you can earn points as well as work your way up the ladder to becoming the ultimate golfer. The points that you earn along the way will help you buy new equipment, courses, characters, outfits, and much more! It takes a while to earn these points so don't expect to have full reign over all the items after just a few rounds.
My favorite part of the multiplayer option is mini-golf. This is also available in single player, but personally I prefer kicking my friends' butts rather than a computer. There are two mini-golf courses, but only one is unlocked. You have to earn a certain amount of points in the first course to unlock the second. The first course is pretty typical, while the second one is absolutely madness. Each hole offers a new challenge whether it be avoiding obstacles or trying your best to bank a shot off a bridge.
If you own a PS2 then I highly suggest picking up "Hot Shots Golf Fore." If not, then I recommend buying a PS2 as well as "Hot Shots Golf Fore." This one game will keep you, your friends, and your family entertained for weeks.

If you haven't played a golf game before then this might be somewhat of a learning experience at first. It takes a few tries to warm up to the controls before you will hit the "perfect shot," after that it is all smooth sailing. The game offers different levels for the amateur and veteran.

Graphics - 3.5
The graphics are amazing! The cartoon characters add a new element to the golf game while the courses stay realistic. I particularly was impressed with the fire and ice graphics when hitting the ball especially hard. The camera angles after hitting the ball were very good as well.
Sound - 3.5
The sounds were very realistic. It is exactly what you would expect to hear when you hit the ball or accidentally smash it into a water hazard. In addition, a hilarious part of the game is the phrases from the characters and the caddies. The comments will have you rolling on the floor in no time.
Difficulty - Easy/Medium
The actualy controls of the game are pretty friendly and easy to learn. The most difficult aspect of the game is the time issue. In order to really conquer this game you will have to spend countless hours playing the courses. These countless hours will be well spent and you will be happy that you put the time into it.
Concept - 4.0
I would like to give a round of applause to the creators. It is a magic blend of comedy and golf mixed into one fun-filled game. Other games can try to replicate the concept and success, but it would take a lot to top this one.
Overall - 4.0
There are a lot of golf games out at the moment, but "Hot Shots Golf Fore" is my favorite. I enjoyed this game as did my friends, family and fellow co-workers. I definitely suggest picking up "Hot Shots Golf Fore!"
