American Juniors
We recently had the opportunity to exclusively interview American Juniors. Below are their individual responses.
Lucy Hale
All of you are so young, but already have such great careers ahead of you. How do you feel about that?
It is very exciting. I can't wait to see what the future holds for me. All I know is that I am blessed beyond belief and that I am going to work as hard as I can to pursue my dreams.
Do any of you ever feel like you are missing out on your childhood at all?
I love music so much and that kind of takes away from the fact that I am missing out on some things. I have always known that I wanted to be a singer and I knew that meant sacrificing some things for my dream. When I am home I hang out with my friends and go to dances, so I try and partake in some of the activities that I miss out on.
How do you feel about the pressure that is always put on child stars in the entertainment business?
This is a very tough business. You have to make sure you really want it and will put up with anything, and that includes all of the pressure. It is also difficult for a child star to be taken seriously and I want to change that. I mean children work very hard too, so I think that they should get the credit for that.
How did each of you originally find out about American Juniors?
I found out about it through watching American Idol. They announced on that show that they were going to have a younger age division of it. From there I searched the web for information about it.
What do you think about Simon on American Idol?
I think he's awesome. Yeah sometimes he is a little harsh, but he says what everyone else is thinking. I find him extremely hilarious.
Do any of you hope to one day go solo?
Oh yes! It is my dream.
If you were a fly whose wall would you land on?
Hmmm...I am going to have to say Brad Pitt's DEFINITELY!... or Justin Timberlake's!

Do any of you ever feel like you are missing out on your childhood at all?
There are definitely times when I feel as though I wish I could be a
regular kid. But I believe that everyone has their own set of challenges, and I've chosen this path. I can't complain; it's what I want to do!
How do you feel about the pressure that is always put on child stars in the entertainment business?
I don't feel that pressure is put on me, but more that I ask this of myself. I do this because it's fun for me!

Do any of you hope to one day go solo?
Absolutely! I've had an amazing time with the Juniors and we have so many memories, but I do hope I'll one day go solo.
If you were a fly whose wall would you land on?
Well, I think I would first land on some of my favorite star's walls just to see what they were like in person! Some of them might be Mariah Carey, John and Joan Cusack, Kevin James, Barbara Streisand, Amy Poehler, Oprah Winfrey, and Rachel McAdams!

I heard it on American Idol one night, Ryan Seacrest announced that they were going to have a juniors and Tori immediatly asked my parents if we could go.
What do you think about Simon on American Idol?
I think he is very rude, because we all said "Hi" to him one time, and he turned around and said "Oh it's you 5, don't sing!" It was horrible! But Randy Jackson liked us alot! We even sang for him, and he said we were fantastic!

I love being part of a group, I think it suits me, but ya someday I'd love to be like Beyonce so I can sing, dance and act! Do it all!

I'd land on Simon's wall. Just to see if he treats his girlfriend like he treats everyone else! LOL! Lets hope not!

I don't really feel like my career is set. I still feel like I have a long road ahead of me and alot of work to go with it. I have met alot of people, who are helping me get there. I am so thankful to them. But I am willing to work hard for my dream!
Do any of you ever feel like you are missing out on your childhood at all?
Yes. I do feel that way because I don't go to regular school right now, and haven't for two years, and I think I have missed out on alot. But I am going to go back! YEAH! I also have to practice all my skills daily and take lots of classes and this takes up alot of my time.

Well it's hard sometimes because I am only 11, and they sometimes want me to act like I'm 21 or something and it gets hard. You really have to love doing this.

I met him one time with the group and he walked right past us and we said "Hi" and he said " Don't sing!" and walked away! How mean! But thats okay, cause Randy liked us!
Do any of you hope to one day go solo?
Yes! I want to go solo! when I first found out that this A.J. thing was a group I was so mad! But it turned out okay, cause I have my sister in it! I have always wanted to be a solo artist, but I wouldn't mind doing a duet with Tay either. But I love the group now!
If you were a fly whose wall would you land on?
If I could be a fly on someones wall, I would be a fly on Gods wall (if he had walls) to see what his plan was for me, cause I am so impatient!!!
