Upcoming
 American Juniors

With the overwhelming success of American Idol producers of the show went out to find kids between the ages of 6-13 who can sing and dance with appealing personalities for a broad audience. In that they found and chose: Lucy Hale now (15), Chauncey Matthews (13), Danielle White (13), Taylor Thompson (13), and little sis’ Tori Thompson (11).

Rounding off this eclectic group is the only boy to make the group, Chauncey Matthews. Chauncey’s vocal talent is a cross between a very soulful Rhythm and Blues sound but with a refreshing new twist of a Crooner quality to it. When this California Native isn’t swooning the ladies with his voice, he enjoys playing video games and talking a lot to his friends.

Next up are the Thompson sisters who coincidentally are also a couple of California girls. Taylor and Tori Thompson were the first two group members to be picked on American Juniors. Older sis’ Taylor; nicknamed “Tay”for short, realized that she wanted to be a singer when she was about 4 years old. Her first performance was in her hometown of Santa Maria in a local festival singing “Everybody Wants To Be a Cat.” Tay enjoys tap, jazz, ballet, and playing guitar, her favorite movie is “Finding Nemo.” Eventually she would like to be not only a well-known singer but also a veterinarian. Sounds like the kid has a lot of spunk. But move over big sis’ because enthused sibling Tori has plans of her own and big ones too. Like Taylor, Tori started out her singing career at the tender age of four in local pageants and festivals. These two girls are probably going to be entrepreneurs of the bunch seeing as how they so many ideas of branching out into other facets of industry who knows what they’ll have accomplished in 10 years. Tori is deciding to reach out into all aspects of business including singing (of course), dancing, acting and putting out her own clothing line. Now that’s what you call hunger and commitment. Wow, how do compete with such an energized and eager entertainer? By bringing out the quiet but eager member of the group; Danielle White. Danielle might not be as rambunctious as everyone else (in a good way of course), but her calmness and tranquility is what levels the group out. I watched the show when it aired, and it seemed that Danielle was one of those people who just illuminated with such pleasant but yet humble confidence that made you just want to root for her till’ the very end. Danielle; nicknamed Dani; is kind of your typical girl next door in that she loves sport, in particular soccer and running, has fun in school, especially Math and Social Studies and has aspiring dreams to be someone or something great. Danielle’s personal taste in music is very R&Bish with the likings of Lauryn Hill, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and American Idol winner Ruben Studdard. This is good because Danielle’s voice has some flava to it.

Moving on, we have our final American Junior, who is the eldest among the five, Lucy Hale. Lucy was one of the favorites, in my opinion, to win because of the range and control she had with her voice. Lucy was born in Memphis, Tennessee, the hometown of “The King Of Rock ‘N’ Roll,” Mr. Elvis Presley. I guess the famous town rubbed off on her. Like many of her fellow group members, she is influenced by R&B/Pop type of music like Whitney Houston and Christina Aguilera. Like a usual teenaged girl, Lucy loves to go shopping, dancing, and hanging out with friends. But I guess right there is the end of the road for that because there aren’t a lot of teens who can carry a tune like she does.

These 5 child prodigies haven’t been heard of much yet, but with a new single and CD coming out they are sure to take the music world by storm.
