Lost & Found: Music
You may have heard of Lou Pearlman, the middle-aged, boy-band admirer who has recently been under investigation for child abuse, because he made the Backstreet Boys and N'Sync household names. What you probably did not realize was that there was another band he had a hand in helping -- LFO.

Formed in 1996 in Orlando, Florida (the hub of everything 90's pop) by Boston-based musician Rich Cronin, aspiring model Brad Fischetti and a third member simply known as "Brizz" they signed a record deal with Logic Records.

The "Lyte Funky Ones" as they called themselves at the beginning found that making their mark would be a little harder than they had expected. Their first two singles, "The Way You Like It" and "That's The Way" tanked and Brizz left the band, bringing in Devin Lima to fill the void.

With Lima on board and a new, shortened name, LFO recorded a self-titled album with Arista Records. With the release of their first single, "Summer Girls," written and produced by Cronin, the band became known around the world. Even Entertainment Weekly magazine recognized their potential calling the single "the beach blanket jam of the summer."

The second single, "Girl on TV" which featured Jennifer Love Hewitt as the 'girl on TV' was less successful, but by no means a failure.

After that the band seemed to vanish. So what have they been up to since then? The once high publicized band has not been heard from in a long time, even with the release of two albums since their first hit record. In 2001 they released Life Is Good on J Records. Their latest release, Sheath, from Warp Records has not made a splash on radio or in record sales, but one thing you can still say about LFO is that they are "lyte" and "funky."
