Acting since the age of five, Ashley Jones, a Texas native, knows the ins and outs of being a successful working actress in Hollywood. Ashley shares with Teen Scene how her parents kept her grounded as her career took off.
Ashley has been seen gracing the screen for years on such shows as "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman," "Young and the Restless," "CSI: New York" and probably her most famous role as Bridget Forrester on "The Bold and the Beautiful." With this impressive resume, most people would think it would have gotten to her head, like many other stars, but Ashley has kept herself level-headed thanks to the upbringing by her dedicated parents.
Ashley credits her parents for keeping her in check and away from drugs, sex and alcohol during her younger years. While on "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman," her parents pulled her off of the show when they saw some rebellion coming over her. "It made me very angry at the time. I wanted so badly to leave and move back to California. I don't think I was heading down the drug path, but I do feel I was letting the industry affect my ego." But, looking back on her parents' decision now, Ashley says she thinks they made good choice.
Ashley now appreciates the values her parents instilled in her and putting them to good use through her volunteer work with PS Arts, a charity organization that brings the arts to children in the inner-city.
You can catch Ashley Jones in her upcoming short film, "His Good Will," and of course on, "The Bold and the Beautiful."
