What do you want to see on Teen Scene? Tell Us

Movie Box - Vincent Martella

It looks like comedy TV shows are making a comeback thanks to shows like UPN's hit "Everybody Hates Chris".  Based on actor/comedian Chris Rock's childhood in Brooklyn, this family comedy touches on everything from school to girls to parties. Chris quickly becomes friends with Greg, played by Vincent Martella, after being picked on by the school bullies.

Teen Scene caught up with Vincent Martella who's been busy flying back and forth between California and his home in Florida. Vincent who's always had a passion for acting started out being on national commercials. With his family's support he has gone on to do TV shows and movies and has appeared in "Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo" and "Cracking Up."

Vincent recently celebrated his 13th birthday along with two other cast members from "Everybody Hates Chris". Vincent told Teen Scene, "Our producer surprised us with a birthday cake. It was two cakes, one shaped like the number one and the other a three. Then they had Rick Fox of the LA Lakers come and wish us a happy birthday and take pictures."

When Vincent isn't acting he enjoys singing, playing basketball and dancing.  If he could pick one actor to work with right now, it would be Jim Carrey. "I love to do impressions like he does. He is very quick witted," Vincent told us.

Vincent can be seen every Thursday night on "Everybody Hates Chris" and also on "Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide" with a recurring role as Scoop. Even with all of his success, Vincent remains grounded with support from his family and helpful advice from his mentors. Vincent told Teen Scene, "He [Chris Rock] told me to be myself, to be real, and not to get a big head." Check out his official website, www.VincentMartella.com for more upcoming projects!  He's definitely on his way to being a triple threat in the entertainment industry!
