What do you want to see on Teen Scene? Tell Us

Movie Box - KT Rowe Interview

Up-and-coming young actress, KT Rowe, stars in the thriller "Number 23" with Jim Carrey in theaters now. Teen Scene got the chance to catch up with KT!

TS: When did you know acting was a career you wanted to pursue?
KT: I was 13. I wasn't sure if I wanted to pursue modeling or acting. I started taking classes for both and was drawn more towards acting.

TS: Can you tell me about your character in "Number 23"?
KT: I played the part of the girlfriend of Robin (Logan Lerman). In the scene, Robin isn't suppose to have anyone in the house while his parents (Jim and Virginia) are not a home. They come home, Walter (Jim) opens the front door, sees me there with Robin (Logan) and steps back out of the house, closes the door quickly so Robin's mother doesn't see me there and gives Robin time to get me out of the house.

TS: Since working on the film, have you noticed the number 23 more often?
KT: Yes! It is crazy... I thought about it and what a coincidence. I signed with my manager and agent the 2nd month of 2006, booked my first audition (The Number 23) on the 3rd month.... 23. I am sure there are more and I will keep looking...

TS: Did Jim Carrey play any jokes while on the set?
KT: Of Course! He is JIM!! I don't think he can keep from it. When Logan and I were shooting the scene, we were sitting on the couch. Jim was suppose to open the door and close it back quickly, instead he rushes in, picks Logan up from the couch and pushes him aside, he practically tackles me and pretends to show Logan the technique of how to steal a kiss from a girl. All I could do was laugh, if was so unexpected and caught us off guard. I have never laughed so much as I did that day. Every time I hear his name, I laugh. Thanks Jim.

TS: What type of advice did the veterans on set give you?
KT: Watching such professionals as Jim and Virginia was more of a learning experience than any advice. James Garner did tell me, never forget your roots.

TS: When you're not acting, what do you like to do for fun?
KT: Play sports, hang out with my friends and mastering the art of text messaging.

TS: What upcoming projects do you have coming up?
KT: Hopefully lots. I have been on several auditions for upcoming projects this season, and I hope something develops from those.

TS: What goals do you have as an actress?
KT: To develop my acting skills to the best of my ability and eventually be known as a well established actress.

TS: Who's career would you like to model your's after?
KT: There are so many that I admire. Julia Roberts, Britney Murphy, Meryl Streep.

TS: Do you have advice for other teens who want to pursue acting?
KT: Stay focused, have patience, and don't give up. Remember, there is no elevator to becoming famous, you have to take one step at a time.

We at Teen Scene wish KT the best of luck with her promising career!
