Movie Box - Eight Below Premiere

Love was in the air while on the red carpet at the “Eight Below” premiere in Hollywood. Valentine’s Day was just days away and none other than the star of “Eight Below,” Paul Walker was on everyone’s mind!

“Eight Below” is the newest Disney film to hit the big screen. It follows Jerry Shepard (Paul Walker) and his team to Antarctica where he faces an emergency evacuation. He must leave his dogs, but is promised they will be rescued. When he hears no one has gone back for his dogs, it’s too late. The winter storms are too powerful to travel in. His dogs must fend for themselves and attempt survival in the harshest conditions.

Moon Bloodgood plays Kate, a very clever and strong pilot. While filming in British Columbia Moon said, “It got down to 25-40 below.” Moon, who was very excited to be at the premiere exclaimed, “You don’t just have to be a dog lover to love this movie. You’ll be moved by human animal trials and what people do in situations that are very desperate.”

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, Paul Walker stated, “I like low maintenance girls.” Paul wasn’t the only one on people’s mind. The other stars of the movie were the dogs. Working with the dogs was sometimes frustrating, but Paul admits he could never get mad at them. “I’d get mad at an actor fast, but not a dog.” When asked about any funny stories while working with the dogs, Paul told Teen Scene one of many. “The dog that plays Maya (Coda) isn’t very affectionate and she is the one who is supposed to be my favorite in the film. So, when it came to filming the scene, Coda didn’t like to be handled and was very aggressive.” Paul had a blast filming this movie and hopes people will walk out feeling good about things.

If Paul couldn’t live without one thing, he told Teen Scene, “the ocean.” What couldn’t you live without?
