| To many people, Anson Mount is simply known as the guy who starred in Crossroads with Britney Spears. But, Mount started acting long before Crossroads and has continued to act long after without very many people catching on to this talented thespian.
Mount was born Anson Adams Mount II on February 25, 1973 in Prospect Heights, Illinois, to professional golfer Nancy Smith and late Playboy Magazine sports editor Anson Mount. Although born in Illinois, Anson grew up in White Bluff, Tennessee. While attending Dickson County High School in Dickson, Tennessee Mount landed his first acting role in a school play.
Mount graduated from high school in 1991 and enrolled in college at Tennessee's University of the South. He then earned a master's degree in fine arts and acting from Columbia University.
After participating in New York's theater scene for many years Mount began appearing on television in guest roles on shows such as Ally McBeal and Sex and the City. After various other acting gigs on television and some parts in films, such as Urban Legends: Final Cut, Mount found himself on set with Robert De Niro discussing Britney Spears and an upcoming movie title Crossraods. Mount listened to De Niro and soon found himself starring along side the most famous pop icon of the decade in one of the most publicized films in 2002. But since starring with Britney Spears what has Anson Mount been up to?
Soon after Crossroads was released, City By The Sea (the film set he was on with De Niro when deciding to try out for Crossroads) was released to the public and received favorable reviews.
Mount then starred in The Battle of Shaker Heights, financed by Project Greenlight and owner Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. Mount is currently starring in the television show 'Line of Fire' as Ray Ravelle with fellow actor Leslie Bibb.
