What to Wear? - Michelle Williams Style Profile

Picture this: A delicate, fragile young woman taking slow and soft steps on a big, flashy red carpet. A chiffon butternut-colored dress is beautifully draped on her petite frame. It is hugging her in all the right places. Her coy smile is sweet and charming, much like her overall demeanor. Oh how she commands without commanding at all. This heavenly vision shines bright. And why wouldn’t she? She is Michelle Williams, Hollywood’s newest and brightest upcoming star.

Previously known as Jen on the teenage television program, Dawson's Creek, Williams always seemed to fall under the shadow of her more popular co-star, Katie Holmes. Not until recently has the radiant actress created a name for herself outside of her small role on Dawson's Creek. Experimenting with roles and characters worked to her advantage as she was able to land the role of a lifetime: by starring in Oscar nominated film Brokeback Mountain. Little did she know that this film would do wonders for her career and personal life, as well.

On the sets of the critically acclaimed film, Williams caught the eye of lead star, Heath Ledger. In no time, the two found themselves in a serious relationship and were awaiting the arrival of their daughter, Matilda Rose Ledger. Williams, a fairly young mother, radiated even more during her pregnancy and has continued to bloom into the rose she is today.

Her fashion sense also bloomed throughout the years. In her earlier acting days, Williams followed trends, wearing what was in style. However, she later found a style of her own and has gained much appreciation for it. The soft silhouettes, soft fabrics, soft, muted colors paired with equally understated and minimal jewelry make her noticeably different from Hollywood's sparkle and razzle-dazzle. Her rose like quality, soft and serene yet never overlooked, make her a cut above the rest.

Williams has graced the red carpet in apparel by a variety of designers, but maintains a particular style no matter who’s design she is wearing. She has carved out an image for herself and will continue to refine that image as her star status also continues to shine bright.
