Jamie's Top 5 - Beauty Websites
With the advent of sites like Myspace and Facebook – not to mention online magazines like yours truly – one-stop shopping has truly come into the forefront with online beauty destinations. But, how do you choose the best of the best? Which sites have the most brands, the greatest products, the true crème de la crème? Well, we’re here to tell you!

By Jamie Sanders, Associate Editor

Sephora.com

If there were only one site that could be named beauty mecca, Sephora.com would take the prize hands down. The site offers up pretty much everything a self-proclaimed beauty junkie could ever want! Start off with the site's own brand of makeup and bath products—check out winners like the Colorful Eye Shadow Palette in 12 gorgeous shades like the bluesy Jean Attitude, lilac-hued Pretty Baby and Camel Leon ($24 each), or maybe you'll gravitate toward the Indulgences Body Wash in yummy scents like Grapeseed and Coffee & Cream ($8 each). But once you've exhausted the likes of Sephora's own wares, you'll really get the party started with brands like Frédéric Fekkai, Bliss, LORAC, Tocca, Lancôme, Too Faced, Benefit … the list literally goes on and on!

Beauty.com

Drugstore.com’s partner site, Beauty.com, is a one-stop shop for, well, all things beauty. Not quite sure what you’re looking for? That’s no problem—the homepage presents quick beauty features like “Beautifully Conscious,” a listing of great organic and holistic products such as the Juice Beauty Green Apple Collection ($39) and Dr. Hauschka Skin Care Moisturizing Day Cream ($32.95). Brands range from Phyto, Red Flower and John Masters Organics to Urban Decay, Philosophy and NARS. You can find luxurious and, yes, expensive lines here, but you can also happen upon cheap finds like Olay and Tweezerman. Still not convinced? How about the ever changing and forever exciting free samples you get with purchase? Yeah, we thought that might grab you.

Gloss.com

Bobbi Brown and M.A.C and Clinique, oh my! This self-proclaimed beauty chick’s go-to beauty site leaves no stone unturned in its quest to offer luxe brands to consumers. For everything from Chanel’s signature fragrance (No 5, of course) to Clarins cleansers, Jo Malone candles to the über-luxe La Mer line, it’s no wonder Gloss.com has been around for so long (since Fall 2001, to be exact). And the best part? It’s gotta be the amazingly wonderful and unique gift sets. Many a friend, colleague and family member has received one or more of these from yours truly—because when you have the opportunity to give someone an Estée Lauder fragrance set, why wouldn’t you?

ULTA.com

A combination of salon, department store and drugstore that’s been around since the early ‘90s, ULTA’s more than 200 stores have recently expanded to include the easy-to-peruse, even-easier-to-shop ULTA.com. And boy, are we happy they did! Looking for cosmetics? Maybe you’d be interested in the Bare Escentuals Starter Collection ($60) or the Urban Decay Blow Lip Plumper ($17). Skincare more up your alley? Check out the more than 700 products, including Neutrogena’s Visibly Firm Eye Cream ($16.99) and Elizabeth Arden’s Day Renewal Emulsion ($62). The site also plays host to fragrance, haircare, salon, bath & body, appliances and accessories, as well as selling its own brand of products. And as many of the products found here are exclusive to ULTA.com, you can bet you’ll be joining a select few in owning those coveted items. Uniqueness and beauty under one roof? Sign us up.

BathandBodyWorks.com

It would be enough for us if the Bath & Body Works site featured just the full breakdown of its own brands (Aromatherapy, Signature Collection, Breathe, Classics, Men’s, Temptations and True Blue Spa). Right there you’ve got everything from shower gels, body splashes and lotions in delectable scents like Creamy Coconut, Green Tea & Cucumber, Black Raspberry Vanilla and Night Blooming Jasmine to Alluring Apple and Cinnamon Bun Heaven Three-in-Ones and Deep Nourishment Body Cream in Tamarind Nectar and Ginger Verbena. But add in lines like 100% Pure, C.O. Bigelow, Boscia, Freeze 24/7, Jaqua, Vincent Longo, Patricia Wexler and White Barn New York—amongst a slew of others—and you’ve basically got your beauty cabinet filled for all eternity.
