Want a great new hairstyle – but a little strapped for ideas? Turn to the spring runways, where designers showed everything from 80s-style teased bangs to angelic waves. Here are our tips for pulling off five of the hottest looks this season.
Diane Von Furstenberg
Volume, volume, volume. There was lots of it at this show, where models had bangs teased up to THERE, with a slick bun in the back. How to achieve this look – first, separate the section from the forehead to the crown that you’ll be teasing. Next, pull the rest of your hair into a tight bun and finish with a medium-hold hairspray (we like Herbal Essences Non-Aerosol Extra-Hold Hairspray, $3.99 at www.CVS.com). Before teasing bangs, run a dime-sized amount of Frédéric Fekkai Smooth Hair ($17.50 at www.sephora.com) through them to increase shine and manageability. Tease bangs with a wide-toothed comb (try Sephora’s Wide Tooth Comb, $4 at www.sephora.com). Your crowning moment? Take this look to your next party and be the talk of the town!

Anna Sui
Champion bedhead style this spring with the look shown at Anna Sui. Long, loose waves ruled supreme here, and flyaways? They were universally accepted. How to achieve this look – begin by running a dime-sized dollop of styling cream through damp hair (we like DuWop Hands 2 Hair Styling Creme, $16.50 at www.beauty.com). Next, part your hair in the middle – it should be severe and precise. Wrap a large barrel curling iron around sections of your hair to create loose waves. Finish with a dab of pomade – Fresh Hair Pomade ($24 at www.fresh.com) will leave your hair piecey without weighing it down. Go ahead, give your hair a reason to get out of the bed in the morning.

Calvin Klein
Severity was a thing of the past at Calvin Klein, where the less “done” the hair, the better. Silky straight hair pulled back into a loose braid was key. How to achieve this look – First, run a dime-sized amount of straightening gel through soaking wet locks (we love Frédéric Fekkai Straight Away, $17.50 at www.sephora.com). Next, blowdry one-inch sections with a round brush (try Aveda’s Medium Ceramic Round Brush, $20 at www.aveda.com). When hair is completely dry, separate into three wide sections just below the nape of your neck. Braid them very loosely, so that hair fans out and frames your face. Tie the braid with an invisible ponytail holder about an inch from the bottom (try Sephora Clear Snag-Free Hair Elastics, $3.50 for a set of 8 at www.sephora.com). Perfect for a day at the beach.

Marc Jacobs
It’s time to go mod – with a bit of an edge. Marc Jacobs is the king of mod style, so it’s only fitting that he incorporated it into his show. How to achieve this look – Begin by spraying leave-in conditioner Philosophy The Big Blow Off ($14 at www.sephora.com) on your hair to increase shine. Follow with a dime-sized dollop of straightening gel (try John Frieda Frizz-Ease Extra Strength Formula Hair Serum, $5.99 at www.walgreens.com) to get your hair as straight and smooth as possible. Blow dry one-inch sections with a round brush, taking care to make each section smooth and silky. Finish by parting your hair on the left side. Long, angelic locks – who knew it could be so easy?
