Most companies create t-shirts to advertise their business, never in a million years would that same company think to pay someone to wear their company's t-shirt for them. That was until Jason came up with the idea to create his website, IWearYourShirt.com.
"It just so happens that the majority of companies out there create shirts and that I could probably charge those companies to have me wear their shirts. IWearYourShirt.com was born!" Jason explains to Teen Scene why he created the website.
The prices for the days increase by one dollar each day, beginning on the first of January. The ending day will be December 31, which has already been sold for $365.
All the days for the summer have been purchased and when a shirt does not come to him, Jason has the pleasure to walk around shirtless for the entire day. "I don't plan on taking a day off at all this year and if a shirt doesn't show up, I go shirtless!"
"I take a handful of daily photos in the shirt, make a daily video clip which gets put on YouTube, Facebook, etc and do a daily Live Video show on Ustream.TV (3pm EST)." he said on explaining how the site works and what the buyer will essentially be getting. Jason has worn t-shirts for such companies as Ustream TV, Zappos.com, JakeandAmir.com and numerous others which he says "helps validate the idea."
Although Jason did not sell a shirt on his site for an entire month however he continued to push forward and network. "When IWearYourShirt.com initially launched, I e-mailed all my contacts and told them about the idea."
Being in the website business hasn't been an easy task, Jason admits, but he continued to believe in his company. He does give advice for when you are faced with negative comments, "you have to take these things with a grain of salt and move forward." With major sites such as Twitter and Facebook becoming major social networks Jason was sure to keep in contact on there as well.
A person has to have a someone to "piggy back " off of when an idea is generated, IWearYourshirt.com is no exception. With a number of similar sites being created and many more which may be created in the future Jason thinks that, "if someone copies your idea, it is obvious you are doing something right. Just make sure you keep doing what you do, believe in yourself and don't get discouraged if you have a bad day of web traffic or get a few negative comments."
He gives one last word of advice for young entrepreneurs, "if you become famous remember where you came from and answer your e-mail!"
