third_eye_blind.jpgIt's not every so often when  that special band comes around, that band who carries your favorite anthem to rock out to in any mood, Third Eye Blind is that band, starting in the early 1990's. Also known as 3EB, formed back in 1997 by band members Stephen Jenkins, Brad Hargreaves, Tony Fredianelli, and Arion Salazar. Third Eye Blind's name came from an idea of having a 'mind's eye' that Stephen Jenkins had read about. Their debut album came in place that same year followed by top selling album; "Blue" in 1999 selling over 6 million copies worldwide. Alternative rock listeners all over became interested in the band's grunge and unique style. They gained so many fans and attention that five of their top hits became known on Billboard's Hot 100. They are most known for their top hits like "Semi-Charmed Life", "Jumper", and "Losing a Whole Year".

The band first began opening for other bands at concerts performing their original songs, they never thought amounting to the success they would become.Soon, they were recognized by audiences and promoters whom insisted on them for encore presentations. They were still unreleased artists when they were signed a contract in Los Angeles from Elektra Records. "Third Eye Blind" was first released with many hot singles ready to hit the charts. "Blue" was recorded and also released about two years later also gaining top spots with their catchy singles, "Anything". and "Never Let Go". Americans seemed to greatly enjoy their first album "Third Eye Blind" due to their soaring amount of sales. Regardless, the band's success was greatly recognized in their first few years, and two studio recorded albums.

After a period of taking a break and taking care of their band business, they came together to record their third studio album; "Out of Vein" in 2003. Although the album contained great songs, the album was poorly promoted and sales were less than stellar. The band didn't less sales stop them from hitting the road. They set out on the "Within Arms Reach" tour.

The band just released their new album "Ursa Major" earlier this year and will be releasing "Ursa Minor" in the coming months. For more about Third Eye Blind and to check out the new material go to www.3eb.com
