BBMak, made up of Mark Barry, Christian Burns, Stephen McNally, were an
English pop group that sold nearly three million albums and spawned six
Top 10 and Top 40 singles charts worldwide between 1999 and 2003, when
the group disbanded.
In 1999, when their debut single was first released, it barely made
it into the Top 40 in the United Kingdom. However, when they released
their first full length album BBMak's debut album, "Sooner or Later,"
it sold over one million copies, and gave the re-release track of "Back
Here" more publicity and the single eventually a #5 spot on the UK
chart, #13 on the US Hot 100 Charts and #1 on the US Adult Contemporary
Chart. The next single off the album, "Still On Your Side," reached #8
in the UK and #54 in the US. The band closed that year with sold out
concerts and a live performance on MTV in Times Square on New Year's
Eve, which led to the release of a DVD called "Sooner Or Later: Our
First Year in America," and their third single "Ghost of You and Me"
peaked at #8 on the US Adult Contemporary Charts in 2001. Following a
great first year, in July 2001, BBMak had the track "Miss You More"
featured on the soundtrack to the hit movie "The Princess Diaries," and
in October they landed a spot on the soundtrack for the movie "On the
Line," which featured *NSYNC members Lance Bass and Joey Fatone.
In August 2002, BBMak released their second album titled "Into Your Head," which reintroduced the group with a new sound, with more emphasis on harmonies. The album reached #25 on the Billboard 200 chart. The first single, "Out of My Heart (Into Your Head)," peaked at #56 on Hot 100 Charts and #25 on the Adult Contemporary Chart. In 2003, their next single "Staring Into Space" was released and barely charted, which lead to the group decision to end the band. Since the break-up, there hasn't been much work for the boys. While all three took the solo route, only Christian seems to have made it work, with a spot on the "Sky High" soundtrack in 2005, and the founding of his band 'Inhaler' around the same time. Also, in 2007 Stephen appeared on a poopular reality show, "The X Factor." Quote this article on your site
