Karen Lucille Hale, commonly known as "Lucy Hale" discovered her love for acting at a young age. Lucy was born in Memphis, Tennessee on June 14, 1989 and at an early age discovered that through her strong determination she would achieve success, "When I was 15 I begged my mom to bring me out to LA for a little while to pursue my career. I don't think I booked anything for a solid year, but I learned an awful lot about the industry." Although acting may be a glamorous career, it is not easy to break into ‘The Industry,’ it often requires persistence and determination. Most teenagers are focused on school dances; Lucy Hale on the other hand, was all ready focusing on her potential career.
The more an actor gets themselves out there, involved, and working, they will have the opportunity to make impressions on those directors, screen writers, etc. who in the end make the final say on whether an actor will truly make it in 'The Industry.' Lucy made guest appearances on several television shows before she landed her biggest role of starring in the hit CW TV show “Privileged." Lucy took each job as a building block in her career, meeting new people and learning new things throughout, “the majority of my acting has been on TV. It's great because you can dip into lots of different characters. It's also really interesting to meet all of the people on different projects. I take pieces of things I've learned from each experience.” Lucy’s first acting role was as a guest role on “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide” in 2005; Lucy has since then been cast alongside notable actors including Blake Lively, Amber Tamblyn, Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera, and Haylie Duff. Lucy’s latest project is playing a role in the upcoming movie “Deep Cove.” The movie is a thriller which centers on a group of high school friends who go out to an island for the weekend not knowing what to expect. Although this movie was a new challenge for Lucy as an actor, she managed to get the hang of things quickly, “I was pretty pumped about being able to run around acting like a killer was on the loose. Seriously though, I found myself getting a little freaked out at times!” Lucy managed to not only walk away from the set with more experience as an actor, but also with a valuable life lesson, “No matter what changes happen you should always stay positive. We had the greatest director on this film and he always stayed calm and positive. It was really inspiring!” Quote this article on your site
