At only twelve years old, Alex Ferris has starred alongside big stars such as Eric Bana and Hugh Jackman. We recently had a chance to chat with Alex and he had a lot to say! From his best performance to his dream co-stars, Alex had a lot to share with us and with you!
Alex's roles have been plentiful lately. He starred as Billy Gornicke in the movie "RV", played the young Henry in "The Time Travelers Wife, and even provides the voice of T.D. in the series "Martha Speaks. Of his released films, Alex feels that his best performance was his role in "The Invisible", where he played Victor Newton. However, he feels that his best overall performance was in a yet to be released TV movie. Alex told us a little about the movie and the role: "This fall I will be seen in a TV movie called ‘Battlestar Galactica – The Plan’. I play a boy who takes refuge and I really enjoyed playing that role." Last year, Alex had the amazing opportunity to provide Charlie Brown’s voice in the Peanuts Webisodes. He told us that he did not expect to get the part when he auditioned and that " Charlie Brown is such an iconic character that I did not think I had a chance to get the role." Although he was nervous, Alex did not let his nerves hold him back from playing such a huge cartoon character! He tells us that he "went back and watched ‘Charlie Brown’s Christmas Special’ to remind me how I was to voice the role. This helped a lot and made me less nervous when I went in to tape the role." Having already played one of the most popular cartoon characters of all time, Alex admits that he also wants to play one of the most non-animated characters of all time: James Bond. He loves the young James Bond books and all of the movies. Maybe someday we will see him as the next James Bond! Starring in huge films such as ‘The Time Traveller’s Wife and appearing in X-Men has allowed Alex to perform alongside huge stars like Hugh Jackman and Eric Bana; not many of us can say that at just twelve years old! Even so, the stars that Alex cannot wait to meet are Meryl Streep and Sean Connery. When asked about his future, Alex tells us that he would love to keep acting and become a much more successful actor when he is older. "I would think it would be great to have a career like Jodie Foster, or Ron Howard who acted when they were young and have had tremendous success as adults." Besides looking forward to a long and successful career, he is also excited to go back to his home town of Vancouver in Canada to watch the 2010 Olympics.
