paperheart2.jpgCalifornian chick , Charlyne Yi, is definitely your all time favorite comedian. You've seen her in hilarious movies like Knocked Up and the more recent All About Steve! So what's this girl been up to lately? Well, this past summer Ms. Yi came out with a small time movie called Paper Heart, a totally heart thawing, smile inducing tale that you'd totally want to watch with a bunch of gals on a night out.

This movie is based on the crisis that Yi faces with the fact that she claims to have never been in love and she even states that it’s impossible to love someone. And voila! A mockumentary is born. This half scripted and half real documentary chronicles Yi going across the U.S in order to find the concept of love. She goes on interviewing old married couples, newlyweds, divorcees, a gay couple, scientists, a psychic, a group of young children and other really cool people like none other than Seth Rogen! In the movie, Yi “meets” Michael Cera (who is playing himself) and begins to form a relationship with him. The cute part of this entire thing is that Cera is actually Yi’s boyfriend in real-life and the two actually composed some music for the movie!

So, where’s the real part in this entire thing? Well, this movie is filled with stories of true love told by real life couples through handcrafted paper puppets and dioramas. The only down side is that some movie reviewers claim that the non scripted interviews  are sometimes boring compared to the scripted scenes which revolve around Yi’s relationship with Cera. This movie is great and you can’t help but fall in love with Yi’s “new-age” comedic personality.
