michellewilliams_copy_copy.jpgFrom playing a teen girl in Dawson's Creek, to a scorned wife in Brokeback Mountain, Michelle Williams has come a long way in her career. Likewise, her style has changed and developed over the years.Whether it's walking through the streets of New York with her daughter, Matilda, or walking the red carpet, she always looks her best. Every outfit needs a perfect finishing touch, and hair is the ultimate accessory. Her wavy, blonde locks are no exception. Her hair always seems to compliment her vintage inspired style. To get a look similar to Michelle's chic and stylish updo, follow these easy steps. What You’ll Need

•    A blow-dryer
•    A small towel
•    Heat protectant serum
•    A round bristle brush
•    A hair tie (preferably one that will match your hair color)
•    A curling iron
•    Anti-frizz hair serum
•    Medium hold hairspray
•    Optional: hair straightener

To start this hairstyle, begin by washing and conditioning your hair. Towel dry your hair to squeeze out any excess water. Spray heat protectant serum or run a small amount of blow dry lotion into your hair prior to blow-drying or straightening.  These will help to protect your hair from split ends and heat damage. Divide your hair into parts, so it will be easier to blow-dry. Starting with the bottom of your hair, use the round brush and blow-dry. Place the brush under your hair and move the brush down from root to tip as your move the blow dryer down. Follow this step until all of your hair is dry. If you have curly hair, use a hair straightener to straighten any strands that are still curly. Once your hair is dry, spritz anti-frizz serum through your hair. Now, take a curling iron, preferably one with a larger barrel size, or you may use large hair curlers. The main aim is to create soft waves, not bouncy curls. Curl random sections of your hair to create a piece-y look. After curling your hair, tie it into a slight bun. Leave sections of your hair out of the bun to frame your face.  Make sure these pieces are slightly wavy. To hold the waves through the day, or night, spray your hair with medium hold hairspray.

The key to this look is creating a pulled together, yet messy updo that highlights your face. With this chic look, you’ll be the center of the party. With a versatile hairstyle such as this, you can keep makeup minimal, like Michelle Williams does here, or choose a bold lip color and neutral eyeshadow.  Whatever you do, have fun and show off your classic hairdo.
