 The dangers of tanning beds and too much unprotected sun exposure have been drilled into our heads over the years, but have we really been listening? I for one haven't been, at least until recently. New research shows that if you regularly use tanning beds before the age of 30, you increase your risk of getting skin cancer by an astonishing 75%! I love being tan because it makes me feel sexier, but I'm definitely not going to risk getting skin cancer just to be sexy. So I set out to find another way to achieve that healthy glow and I discovered some great products that are sure to leave you feeling sexy and they are totally sunless!
The first product that I tried was one that I had been hearing a lot about, Jergens Natural Glow Revitalizing Daily Moisturizer. This product gives a more gradual, natural looking color, but it didn't get as dark as I had hoped. You are supposed to use the product everyday and then after a week you will find yourself a shade or two darker. The best thing about this product is that because it is so gradual there is no worry about ending up with tons of streaking! If you are willing to wait a week and you aren't searching for drastic color, then this is the product for you. You can find it at a wide range of stores, such as Walgreens, CVS, and Walmart and it typically retails for $7.99. The second product that I tried was L'Oreal's Sublime Bronzer Lotion. This product differed from the first because you see almost immediate color, which gets dark very quickly. I definitely loved the quick color results but I had a lot of problems with orange streaks and my hands and feet looked awful! You also need to be careful that you don't use too much or you will have spots that are darker than others. This is a good product if you want instant, dark color but be sure to take your time applying and wear gloves or you won't like the results. This product is also available at places such as Walgreens, CVS, and Walmart and it typically retails for about $9.49. The third product I tried was Cocoa Butter Everyday Summer Body Lotion from The Body Shop. This product was a great moisturizer and it smelled like chocolate, which was a treat compared to the normal smell of sunless tanners! I had no trouble with streaking and this product left my skin feeling super soft! The color change was very gradual and subtle for this product and is perfect if you just want a little glow! There are plenty of products out there that can help you achieve a sexy and sunless glow so be sure to turn to them instead of a tanning bed next time you want a little color!
